We’re currently carrying out the final environmental education activities in our municipality, while also working on activities for the next school year. To promote biodiversity, we’ve decided to implement a new activity: building insect hotels, and I found this short guide for building hotels with wooden pallets, which I’m sharing with you. A very interesting reflection, but today, with 82% of citizens «recycling» and significant advances in the technology of our sorting plants, our recycling data is alarming. In the case of Cieza, more than 80% of waste ends up in landfills.
Another very important question is the one Alesandro points out: can we afford to implement technologies that recycle for us? If the current service seems expensive, what would be the cost of a completely autonomous system? Could we afford it?
In my opinion, awareness is essential. While children are very aware and actively participate, what about adults? How do we reach them? Are sanctions a solution?
