The partners of the EU-funded LIFE Green Me 5 project are meeting in Murcia for the project coordination meeting.

On this occasion, the Murcia City Council was responsible for organizing and holding the Green Innovation Camp in the city, an event focused on water quality and its efficient use. This organization, a partner of the LIFE GreenMe5 project that forms part of this event, brought together the other partners from different European cities to present water innovations through experts in the field. These included researchers from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, representatives from Aguas de Murcia and Aguas de Alicante, specialized consultants from Eurovértice, and others.
The event was opened by the Secretary General of the Federation of Municipalities, project leader Antonio Moreno, and Murcia City Council members Mercedes Bernabé and Antonio Navarro, before more than 50 attendees.

Green Innovation Camps are thematic workshops focused on one of the five pillars of the Green City Accord, promoting improved environmental management. For the technical staff of the municipalities in the regions participating in the project, this is an opportunity to explore other geographical contexts and share good practices and ideas.
In this case, at this event organized by the Murcia City Council, experts and managers from European municipalities discussed topics such as water efficiency, reuse, and citizen campaigns for water conservation.
The LIFE GreenMe5 project aims to implement the Green City Accord, promoting multi-governance and knowledge sharing among municipalities to implement more ambitious local environmental policies.
The project is coordinated by the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia and also includes the municipalities of Cieza and Murcia (Spain), Arezzo (Italy), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Helsingborg (Sweden), co-funded by the LIFE EuroVértice programme.
