The Lithuanian partner held a laboratory analysis to measure two of the key areas of the "Green Cities Deal" in a city neighborhood.
The LIFE GreenMe5 project, funded by the European Union and led by the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, has already held two in-person meetings, the last one in Vilnius, where partners have had the opportunity to work on this initiative, which aims to facilitate the implementation of the Green City Agreement in five European municipalities.
The project members, Murcia, Cieza, Arezzo (Italy), Helsingborg (Sweden), Vilnius (Lithuania), Eurovértice and the Federation of Murcian Municipalities itself, held an internal coordination meeting to evaluate the project's progress. The hosts also organized the "Green Innovation Camp," an analysis laboratory with various activities to respond to research on environmental factors.
One of these was to measure air and noise quality on a street in a peripheral neighborhood chosen by municipal technicians from among more than 800 streets, in order to measure the cost-effectiveness of improvements and thus improve public policies applied to that area.
In addition to the workshops held in the laboratory, the partners agreed on next steps and exchanged knowledge and best practices related to the core areas of this LIFE project: water, noise, air, waste, nature, and biodiversity.
